Undercover Arts Magazine

Uncovering the Creative Capacity of Arizona
through its People, Places, and Ideas

Print & Online Magazine

UNDERCOVER ARTS Magazine returns in September 2026 with a statewide exploration of one of Arizona’s most dynamic creative sectors: Culinary Arts, Food Systems, and Gastronomy.

Produced annually by Art State Arizona, UNDERCOVER ARTS serves as more than a magazine—it is a platform for storytelling, visibility, and connection across Arizona’s creative economy. Through feature stories, artist and business profiles, cultural reporting, and the state’s most comprehensive Creative Sector Directory, the publication highlights the people, organizations, and enterprises shaping Arizona’s cultural identity and economic future.

This year’s theme, Arizona’s Culinary Arts Revolution: Rooted in the Desert. Rising on the National Stage., explores the powerful intersection of food, culture, creativity, heritage, tourism, and economic development. From Indigenous foodways and desert agriculture to nationally recognized chefs, restaurateurs, farmers, beverage makers, and culinary entrepreneurs, the issue celebrates the individuals and communities redefining Arizona’s place on the national culinary landscape.

The 2026–2027 edition will feature expanded statewide distribution, enhanced digital outreach, a searchable online directory, and year-round promotion through Art State Arizona’s events, festivals, website, and communications network. Together, these platforms connect audiences, collaborators, funders, employers, partners, and customers with the artists, makers, businesses, and cultural organizations that make Arizona unique.

More than a publication, UNDERCOVER ARTS is a celebration of the people, places, and creative forces driving Arizona forward.
